Blood Flow Restriction Exercise for Successful Aging

چکیده
PURPOSE: Generally, an increase in life expectancy is accompanied by various geriatric diseases. However, there a possibility that diseases can be prevented and improved through exercise. Exercise recommended for older adults, but high-intensity exercise (HIE) increases the risk of potential injury. Therefore, blood flow restriction (BFRE) attracting attention as alternative people who cannot perform HIE. mechanisms underlying physiological effects benefits BFRE adults have not yet been fully elucidated. This study aimed to summarize on aging-related changes examine its applicability effective intervention successful aging.METHODS: A literature search electronic databases, including PubMed, Web Science, Google Scholar, was conducted published between January 1, 2000, December 31, 2022.RESULTS: effectively muscle mass strength adults. Chronic pressure, vascular function, arterial compliance. Although did induce bone mineral density (BMD) cognitive positive were shown increasing formation markers neurotrophic factors expression. Relatively, side very low, even patients with cardiovascular appeared no risk.CONCLUSIONS: review confirms safe improve function. Moreover, potentially BMD function In conclusion, aging; additional follow-up studies are needed.

Exercise and blood flow restriction.
A growing body of research has demonstrated the effectiveness of exercise (low-intensity resistance training, walking, cycling) combined with blood flow restriction (BFR) for increased muscular strength and hypertrophy. The BFR is achieved via the application of external pressure over the proximal portion of the upper or lower extremities. The external pressure applied is sufficient to maintain...
متن کاملEffect of Aerobic Exercise with Blood Flow Restriction on Mitochondrial Dynamics Proteins of Human Skeletal Muscles
Background: Aerobic exercise with Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) plays an important role in skeletal muscle adaptation; however, the effects of this type of exercise on mitochondrial dynamics proteins are unclear. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise with and without BFR on mitochondrial dynamics proteins of human skeletal muscles. Methods: Pa...
متن کاملMuscle metaboreflex and cerebral blood flow regulation in humans: implications for exercise with blood flow restriction.
We investigated the effect of activating metabolically sensitive skeletal muscle afferents (muscle metaboreflex) on cerebral blood flow and the potentially confounding influence of concomitant changes in the partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide. Eleven healthy males (25 ± 4 yr) performed submaximal leg cycling exercise on a semirecumbent cycle ergometer (heart rate: ∼120 beats/min), and ...
متن کاملMild exercise along with limb blood-flow restriction modulates the electrocardiogram, angiotensin, and apelin receptors of the heart in aging rats
Objective(s): Considering the lack of information, the effects of mild endurance exercise plus blood flow restriction (BFR) on electrocardiographic parameters, hypertrophy index, and expression of angiotensin II receptors type 1 (AT1R) and type 2 (AT2R) and apelin receptor (APJ) were assessed in hearts of old male rats.Materials and Methods: Animal were grouped as control (CTL), Sham (Sh), lowe...
